The short answer

To pay your CareCredit credit-card bill, begin at an official CareCredit or Synchrony account destination or use the official CareCredit mobile app. Confirm that you are paying the card issuer—not a healthcare provider—choose the amount deliberately, save the confirmation and verify that the payment is credited to the account.

Three safety checks

  1. Verify the destination before entering account or bank information.
  2. Confirm whether the payment is going to Synchrony or to a provider.
  3. Keep the confirmation until the payment appears in account activity.

Know which bill you are paying

A payment to the CareCredit card account reduces the amount owed to Synchrony, the card issuer. This is the payment associated with the minimum due, statement balance and card-account due date.

A Pay My Provider transaction uses CareCredit to pay an eligible doctor, dentist, veterinarian or other provider invoice. It creates or adds to a card purchase; it does not pay the CareCredit card statement.

The two actions can appear near each other in an app or website. Read the screen heading and payment destination before submitting anything.

Start from a verified official channel

Use the official CareCredit login page, a trusted Synchrony account bookmark, the official mobile app or the payment instructions printed on the current billing statement. Avoid signing in through an unexpected email, text message, pop-up or search advertisement.

Before entering a username, password, bank account or full card number:

  • Check the complete domain and the secure connection.
  • Do not rely only on a familiar logo or page colors.
  • Do not provide credentials to an independent guide or calculator.
  • If a message claims the account is urgent or suspended, open the official site separately instead of using the message link.

Synchrony advises verifying sources before sharing information and monitoring accounts regularly for unexpected activity.

Use a payment option listed by CareCredit

CareCredit currently identifies several ways to pay the card account, including the online account, the mobile app, Pay as Guest, ACH transfer through a bank, mail and Western Union. Available methods and instructions can change, so verify the current option through CareCredit’s official cardholder or contact page.

CareCredit also states that card-account payments are not accepted directly at the healthcare provider’s office. Its current cardholder guidance says FSA/HSA cards and other credit cards are not available as methods for paying the CareCredit card account.

For mailed payments, use the address and payment coupon on the current statement or official contact page rather than copying an address from an old article.

Choose the payment amount deliberately

The official mobile app currently allows a one-time card-account payment based on the minimum payment due, statement balance, current balance or a custom amount from a bank account.

These choices do different jobs:

  • Minimum payment due: satisfies the listed monthly requirement when credited on time, but may not pay off a promotion by expiration.
  • Statement balance: reflects the balance at the statement closing date and may differ from current activity.
  • Current balance: can include activity occurring after the statement closed.
  • Custom amount: can support a separate payoff plan, but it must still cover at least the required amount due.

Review the amount and bank account before submitting. If the account contains several promotional balances, do not assume that a custom payment will be allocated entirely to the promotion you prefer.

Allow time for the payment to be credited

A submitted payment is not always immediately reflected in every account view. CareCredit’s current cardholder guidance advises allowing at least 48 hours for an online payment to post and 7–10 business days for a mailed payment to be received and post.

Check the current instructions for your selected method, particularly when a monthly due date or promotional expiration date is close. Avoid planning a critical payoff around the final possible day.

Save proof and verify the result

Keep the payment confirmation until the payment appears in the official account activity and on the next statement. Record:

  • Submission date and time
  • Payment amount
  • Confirmation or reference number
  • Bank account used, identified only by its last digits
  • Expected processing or posting information

Compare the payment with the bank withdrawal and CareCredit account activity. If you were targeting a promotional balance, also check how that specific balance changed after the payment was credited.

If a submitted payment does not appear as expected, use the separate guide for a CareCredit payment that is not reflected.

Stop if something feels wrong

Do not continue when a page unexpectedly requests information unrelated to making a payment, the domain is unfamiliar, the browser warns about the connection or someone asks you to pay through gift cards or another unusual method.

Close the page and reach CareCredit through the official website, the number on the back of the card or the contact information on the current statement. If credentials may have been exposed, change them through the official account and review recent activity.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay my CareCredit bill at my provider’s office?

CareCredit’s current cardholder guidance says card-account payments are not accepted directly at a provider’s office. A payment made to a provider is a different transaction.

Can I pay CareCredit with another credit card?

CareCredit currently states that credit cards and FSA/HSA cards are not available for paying the CareCredit card account. Check the official payment options for current methods.

What amount should I choose online?

Pay at least the total minimum payment due by its deadline. If you are also following a promotional payoff plan, verify whether a larger amount is needed and how it affects the relevant balance.

Is Pay My Provider the same as paying my CareCredit bill?

No. Pay My Provider uses CareCredit to pay an eligible provider invoice. Paying the CareCredit bill sends money to the issuer to reduce the card-account balance.
