The short version

CareCredit Explained does not provide user accounts, process payments or connect to a CareCredit or Synchrony account. Its planning and record-keeping tools run in the browser. When a tool saves entries for later use, those entries remain in local browser storage on that device until they are cleared. Do not enter card numbers, login credentials, identity documents or medical information into this site.

What this policy covers

This policy explains how information may be handled when you visit carecredit-registeremail.com, use one of its browser-based tools, follow an external link or contact CareCredit Explained by email.

CareCredit Explained is an independent information resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by CareCredit, Synchrony Bank or any healthcare provider. This policy does not govern the websites, applications, accounts or privacy practices of those organizations.

Information you choose to provide

The site can be read without creating an account or submitting a profile. The main situation in which you may intentionally provide information is when you send an email.

An email can include your email address, display name, message content, attachments and the technical routing information normally associated with email. That information is used to understand and respond to editorial, correction, technical or site-related enquiries.

Do not send CareCredit account numbers, card numbers, passwords, security codes, Social Security numbers, bank details, identity documents, full statements, medical records or insurance records. CareCredit Explained does not need those materials to review public content or investigate a display problem.

How browser-based tools handle your entries

The calculators and record-keeping tools on this site do not log in to CareCredit, Synchrony Bank, a healthcare provider, a bank account or a credit report. They do not retrieve an official balance, payment history, promotional deadline or interest calculation.

Local tool behavior

  1. Calculations happen in the browser. Values entered into a calculator are used to produce an on-screen estimate.
  2. Saved records remain on the device. The multiple-balance planner and refund tracker use the browser’s local storage so entries can remain available in that browser.
  3. Local records are not an account record. They are personal planning notes and are not sent to or verified by CareCredit or Synchrony.
  4. You control removal. Use the tool’s clear option or clear the site data in the browser to remove locally stored entries.

Local browser data can be lost if you clear browser storage, use private browsing, change browsers, reset the device or remove site data. Other people who can use the same device and browser profile may also be able to see locally saved entries.

Use general labels rather than sensitive details. A planning tool does not need a card number, patient name, diagnosis, provider account number or login credential.

Technical information involved in visiting the site

Like most websites, the hosting, delivery and security systems used to serve the site may process standard technical information. This can include an IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, date and time, response status and information used to detect abuse or diagnose an error.

This technical information may be retained in server, security or delivery logs for operational purposes such as delivering pages, maintaining availability, investigating failures and protecting the site. It is not the same as the entries stored locally by a browser tool.

Cookies, advertising and analytics

The current CareCredit Explained site does not require a user account and its own page templates do not include advertising, behavioral-tracking or web-analytics scripts. The site’s record-keeping tools use local browser storage as described above rather than an account database.

External websites reached through a link may use cookies, analytics, advertising or other tracking technologies under their own policies. Browser settings and privacy extensions can also affect how storage and external requests work.

If the site later adds a service that materially changes how visitor information is collected or used, this policy should be updated before or when that service is introduced.

Why information may be used

Information available to the site may be used only for ordinary publishing and operational purposes, including:

  • Delivering pages and browser tools
  • Responding to editorial or technical messages
  • Checking a reported error or broken link
  • Diagnosing failures and maintaining site security
  • Understanding and preventing spam, misuse or attacks
  • Complying with a valid legal obligation

CareCredit Explained does not use the site to approve credit, service an account, make a healthcare decision or build an official CareCredit customer record.

Service providers, disclosure and sale

Website hosting, delivery, security and email providers may process limited information as needed to provide their services. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the site or investigate misuse.

CareCredit Explained does not sell browser-tool entries or email messages. Locally stored tool entries are not intentionally transmitted to CareCredit, Synchrony Bank, healthcare providers or data brokers by the tool.

Retention and the controls available to you

Different information follows different retention rules:

  • Local tool entries: remain in the relevant browser profile until you clear them or the browser removes its stored site data.
  • Email messages: may be retained while an enquiry, correction or operational issue is reviewed and for reasonable follow-up or record-keeping.
  • Technical logs: may be retained by hosting, delivery or security systems according to operational and security needs.

To remove tool records, use the clear control inside the tool or delete stored data for this site in the browser. Clearing data in one browser or device does not clear a separate copy in another browser profile or an exported CSV file.

Children’s privacy

This site is written for people researching consumer financing and is not directed to children. Do not use the site to submit information about a child’s identity, medical care, account or family finances.

Security and practical limits

No website, browser, email system or storage method can guarantee absolute security. The most effective protection on this site is to avoid entering or sending sensitive account, identity, payment or medical information in the first place.

If you believe a public page or browser tool is exposing information unexpectedly, stop using that feature and report the page and behavior without including the sensitive information itself.

Policy changes and privacy questions

This policy may be updated when the site’s tools, hosting arrangements or information practices materially change. The review date shown at the top of the page indicates when the policy was last substantively checked.

For a question about this policy or a privacy-related site issue, email contact@carecredit-registeremail.com. Do not use that address for CareCredit account servicing or send private account or medical records.
