How to use the payoff planner

  1. Copy the current promotional balance and expiration date from your latest statement or official account.
  2. Choose the payment frequency you use for budgeting.
  3. Enter only money already set aside or scheduled before the deadline.
  4. Recalculate after each statement because the remaining balance and time available can change.

What the result means

The result divides the amount still to be planned by the number of complete payment periods before the selected date. It is a budgeting target, not the minimum payment shown on your statement and not a prediction of how the issuer will allocate a payment.

Use a cushion rather than planning to reach zero on the final day. Payment processing, statement timing, new transactions and other account activity are outside this simplified calculation.

Use current account information

Do not reuse the original purchase amount if the promotional balance has changed. Check the current balance and exact expiration date for that promotional purchase, then compare future statements with your plan.
